Tell your state legislators, the Speaker of the House, and the Senate President that educators deserve meaningful elected representation on the STRS Board. Tell them to introduce and pass legislation to restore our voice on the STRS Board.

In Congress, Trump’s allies are trying to sneak a new voucher program into a bill about taxes. But this “tuition tax credit” is nothing more than a national voucher program that also allows people like Elon Musk and Betsy DeVos to turn a profit, personally earning millions of dollars from the scheme, while our public schools, which 90 percent of all students attend, are underfunded and undermined.

Members of Congress—regardless of party—should urge President Trump to end this terrible anxiety and cruelty by reinstating the protection of schools, hospitals and churches against ICE.

Member Mobilization Leaders (MMLs)

Who are they?

The Member Mobilization Leaders (MMLs) are a set of individuals that CTU brought on board through funding by a grant through OFT in Summer 2020. The MMLs (originally titled Political Mobilization Leaders, or PMLs) are leadership positions created to increase member activity in targeted projects. As of April 2024, the MMLs are under the leadership of Legislative Chair Jimmy Musser.

2024 - 2025 School Year Projects:

MMLs are currently working on getting volunteers from each worksite in their network out to our levy & political canvasses.
MMLs were trained over the summer in new tools to help them for the busy 2024 fall campaign season.

2023-2024 School Year Projects:

The MMLs ran a workshop during the Fall Leadership Conference with help from OFT Political Organizer Melissa Miser & CTU MML Director Cindy Antonio. The MMLs discussed their program and goals with new and returning Chapter Chairs for the entire school year.
The MMLs worked to gather signatures for the Citizens Not Politicians initiative to end gerrymandering (again) in Ohio. CTU is leading labor in collecting signatures and CTU MML Rachel Calipetro is the number one signature collector in the entire state!
