Teacher Leader Program
The Teacher Leaders Program identifies and brings together a select group of teachers and empowers them to assume active leadership roles in their schools, unions and communities. These teachers then serve as catalysts to build the profession and strengthen the union and its connection to the community in order to generate support and understanding of public schools. Teacher leaders will continue to use the skills they develop in the yearlong program throughout their careers.

Teacher Leader Alumni Program
The TLP Alumni Program expands on the knowledge gained during participation in the Teacher Leaders Program in research or advocacy.
In this program, participants further the skills learned in the first year of the TLP program to conduct action research. Participants select a topic that relates to a key area from AFT's Real Solutions Campaign:
- Literacy
- Community Schools
- Experiential Learning
- Mental Health and Well-being
- Teacher and School Staff Shortages
