Congress is discussing a budget plan that would cut Medicaid for 21% of Ohioans, including children, the elderly, and 40% of births in Ohio. Medicaid helps to keep local hospitals running, plays a crucial role in supporting K-12 students, schools, and school-based health providers and families.

In Congress, Trump’s allies are trying to sneak a new voucher program into a bill about taxes. But this “tuition tax credit” is nothing more than a national voucher program that also allows people like Elon Musk and Betsy DeVos to turn a profit, personally earning millions of dollars from the scheme, while our public schools, which 90 percent of all students attend, are underfunded and undermined.

Members of Congress—regardless of party—should urge President Trump to end this terrible anxiety and cruelty by reinstating the protection of schools, hospitals and churches against ICE.

The CTU Membership Committee ordered keychains (design below) for all CTU members. These keycains are being distributed during Teacher Appreciation Week, National Nurses Week, and Public Service Recognition Week (which all overlap the week of May 5-9). If you haven't received yours yet, please contact your CTU Chapter Chair.

This keychain features the iconic colors of the flag - red, white, and blue - to symbolize a strong and united teachers union in the presence of Americas uncertain future. The bold red represents the passion and dedication of educators, the deep blue embodies the resilience and strength of the union in fighting for the rights and benefits of teachers, while the pure white stands for the integrity and fairness we all strive for in this profession. NO we will not back down from fighting for our students, NO we will not let this administration ruin education, and NO we will not stop supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion. This keychain was designed to serves as a reminder of the importance of unity and collective power in Cleveland Teachers Union. Happy Teachers Appreciation Week to all members
