Tell your state legislators, the Speaker of the House, and the Senate President that educators deserve meaningful elected representation on the STRS Board. Tell them to introduce and pass legislation to restore our voice on the STRS Board.

In Congress, Trump’s allies are trying to sneak a new voucher program into a bill about taxes. But this “tuition tax credit” is nothing more than a national voucher program that also allows people like Elon Musk and Betsy DeVos to turn a profit, personally earning millions of dollars from the scheme, while our public schools, which 90 percent of all students attend, are underfunded and undermined.

Members of Congress—regardless of party—should urge President Trump to end this terrible anxiety and cruelty by reinstating the protection of schools, hospitals and churches against ICE.

Seeking CTU Leaders!

The Teacher Leaders Program (TLP) is a union program designed to help prepare you to be the educator who facilitates discussions of the issues that affect our profession both here in Cleveland and nationally. Preparing you to be the agent of change. Building leadership.

The Cleveland Teachers Union is currently seeking leaders interested in collaborating with colleagues across Cleveland, CMSD, and the nation:

To increase understanding of the major challenges facing the teaching profession
To improve leadership skills
To represent our profession as articulate spokespersons
Becoming members of an influential and supportive network of educators
Conducting action research shared with local, state, and national leaders

This program will take place on Saturdays at the Halle Building from 9:00 am-3:00pm. The program will begin in November, continuing through the May showcase presentation. The program is open to ALL CTU members. Modest stipends will be offered.

Dates for this year's program: 11/8/25, 12/6/25, 1/17/26, 2/21/26, 3/14/26, 4/11/26, 4/25/26, 5/16/26 (showcase)
