Tell your state legislators, the Speaker of the House, and the Senate President that educators deserve meaningful elected representation on the STRS Board. Tell them to introduce and pass legislation to restore our voice on the STRS Board.

In Congress, Trump’s allies are trying to sneak a new voucher program into a bill about taxes. But this “tuition tax credit” is nothing more than a national voucher program that also allows people like Elon Musk and Betsy DeVos to turn a profit, personally earning millions of dollars from the scheme, while our public schools, which 90 percent of all students attend, are underfunded and undermined.

Members of Congress—regardless of party—should urge President Trump to end this terrible anxiety and cruelty by reinstating the protection of schools, hospitals and churches against ICE.

Description of committee: The Membership committee keeps track of active members of the CTU Chapter. The chair and assistant chair help with new employee orientation every summer (July & August) to inform new employees of CTU benefits and encourage potential members to sign up. The membership committee is in charge of ordering and distributing the membership gift each May. They also work with local organizations, including the Cleveland Guardians, Cleveland Cavaliers, and PlayHouse Square to get discounted rates for CTU members.
