Congress is discussing a budget plan that would cut Medicaid for 21% of Ohioans, including children, the elderly, and 40% of births in Ohio. Medicaid helps to keep local hospitals running, plays a crucial role in supporting K-12 students, schools, and school-based health providers and families.

Click "start writing" and tell your member of Congress to oppose any legislation that cuts Medicaid, SNAP, or leaves working families behind while the rich get richer.

In Congress, Trump’s allies are trying to sneak a new voucher program into a bill about taxes. But this “tuition tax credit” is nothing more than a national voucher program that also allows people like Elon Musk and Betsy DeVos to turn a profit, personally earning millions of dollars from the scheme, while our public schools, which 90 percent of all students attend, are underfunded and undermined.

Members of Congress—regardless of party—should urge President Trump to end this terrible anxiety and cruelty by reinstating the protection of schools, hospitals and churches against ICE.

July 2025 Ohio Bar Exam Proctoring

From July 28–29, 2025, the Supreme Court of Ohio’s Office of Bar Admissions will be administering the Ohio Bar Examination in three separate sites across the state for the first time.  As a result, we are in the process of securing local proctors who would be able to serve at any of the following exam locations:

    1. Ohio Union – Columbus
    2. Cleveland State University College of Law – Cleveland
    3. University of Cincinnati College of Law – Cincinnati

Historically, teachers have proven to be reliable proctors for this exam, and we are hopeful that some of the local academic professionals in the above communities would be willing to serve as proctors.  Would you kindly forward this information to anyone who may be interested?

Passing the bar exam is the culmination of years of study and is the final hurdle to becoming licensed to practice law, and proctors provide an invaluable service to the integrity of this high-stakes exam.  Many proctors have served in the role for years and find it not only enjoyable but personally fulfilling.

Those interested in proctoring should complete the Ohio Bar Examination Proctor Application linked on our website prior to Monday, June 16, 2025.  Additional information, including a description of duties, eligibility considerations, and compensation, can be found on the website, as well. Retired employees should check with their retirement system (i.e., OPERS, STRS, SERS, Police and Fire Pension Fund, etc.) to make sure that receiving a proctor stipend won’t affect their retirement benefits prior to applying.

Please contact the Office of Bar Admissions with any questions at 614-387-9340 or baradmissions@sc.ohio.gov.
